To understand what epigenetics is and how it can be applied to skin ageing, we only have to think about twins. At birth, they have exactly the same genes and are almost identical. However, over the years the differences in appearance begin to become apparent: one has more wrinkles, the facial oval has evolved differently, one has more hyperpigmentation. Why do these differences occur?
